The Chicago Association of Realtors each summer hosts numerous events to aid the career enhancement of local industry professionals. Not coincidentally, these events also provides ample networking opportunities.
There are two panel discussions scheduled for next month, each of which sounds particularly interesting. The first is scheduled for Aug. 11 and is titled “Successful Women in Commercial Real Estate.” This event will examine how women are having an increasing impact in what are historically male-dominated trades, such as construction.
From the Chicago Association of Realtors:
“Women are increasingly moving into occupations such as the construction trades, once held exclusively by men. Join us for a panel featuring Executive Women in Construction to hear this unique perspective on local trends as well as industry challenges and opportunities.”
Deena Zimmerman, vice president of SVN Chicago Commercial, will moderate the discussion. There are three panelists scheduled to participate:
- Shannon Mangiameli, senior project manager at GBWMI Scholar Lincoln Property Company
- Kristin Rosebrough, senior project architect at Perkins + Will
- Rosemary Swierk, construction manager president at Direct Steel Construction
The “Successful Women in Commercial Real Estate ” panel will be held from 11:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. at Morton’s Steakhouse at 65 E. Wacker Place Chicago, Ill. 60601. If you purchase tickets before Aug. 9, the cost is $45 for members of the Chicago Association of Realtors and $60 for non-members. On-site ticket purchases will cost $55 for members and $70 for non-members. You can purchase tickets here.
The second panel discussion on Aug. 18 is titled “How to Monetize Global Real Estate.” As the preview notes, when it comes to real estate these days “the global market is the new local market.” In Chicago, this is particularly true. Global real estate investors are increasingly eyeing the Windy City for property.
The panelists are:
- Jim Kinney, Baird & Warner
- Susanna Cherubin-Delisi, CONLON/Christies International Real Estate
- Sonia Anaya, America Real Estate
- Erik Brejla Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity
The “How to Monetize Global Real Estate” panel will be held at East Bank Club at 500 N. Kingsbury St. Chicago from 4 to 7 p.m. You can purchase tickets for the event here.
